MM 022: How NOT To Get Sued Using SMS

Today on Mobile Mixed: We’ve talked a lot about SMS/text marketing on the show and for good reason. It continues to be one of the most powerful ways a business/brand can add mobile to their marketing mix and get results.

There is a reason Coca-Cola allocates approximately 70% of their mobile budget to SMS. As Jeff Hasen (CMO of HipCricket) says in a our past interview, SMS is the workhorse for most businesses. It may not be sexy but it works.

Although it’s one of the most effective mobile channels available there are still people that are doing it wrong which has resulted in some lawsuits. I recently wrote a guest post on Mobile Marketer about a $47 Million mistake made by Jiffy Lube sending unsolicted SMS messages.

Well, what better way to not get sued than talking with lawyers that specialize in this stuff? Today, we’re joined by Mike Hazzard and Jason Koslofsky of Arent Fox and they help some big brands play nice with their SMS marketing initiatives.
